Diamond Redden

Diamond Redden is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing at Mammissi Birth Services and a nationally respected advocate for culturally grounded birthwork, community storytelling, and maternal health equity. With nearly two decades of experience supporting birthing families, Diamond brings a powerful combination of hands-on doula care, movement leadership, and strategic communications to her work.

Diamond is widely known as the Co-Founder of Black Babywearing Week, a national initiative that celebrates the cultural, historical, and emotional significance of babywearing within Black communities. Through this work, she has helped shift narratives, elevate ancestral practices, and create space for visibility, education, and joy within parenting and birth spaces.

Her leadership is rooted in lived experience, community wisdom, and a deep understanding of how culture, identity, and systems intersect in the perinatal period. Diamond is passionate about ensuring that families—particularly Black and Brown families—receive care that is affirming, informed, and respectful, while also advocating for structural change that supports better outcomes.

At Mammissi Birth Services, Diamond leads brand voice, marketing strategy, and community engagement, ensuring that the organization’s public presence reflects its values of equity, dignity, and excellence. She works closely with the leadership team to align storytelling with service delivery, helping position Mammissi as a trusted, high-caliber agency for families and birthworkers alike.

Diamond is a mother, educator, and movement builder who believes that birthwork is both deeply personal and inherently political. Through her work, she continues to uplift doulas, preserve cultural traditions, and help reimagine what supported, empowered birth can look like for future generations.
